In light of the global monkeypox outbreak, Telangana’s health department has stepped up its response.

Gandhi Hospital and Nallakunta Fever Hospital in Hyderabad are now the main facilities for handling monkeypox cases.

Gandhi Hospital has 20 beds reserved, while Nallakunta Fever Hospital has set aside 100 beds, including six for flu cases.

Although no monkeypox cases have been reported locally yet, officials are urging everyone to stay alert.

Anyone showing monkeypox symptoms should contact health authorities immediately.

The disease, prevalent in countries such as Congo, Nigeria, and Cameroon, requires travelers from these regions to isolate and seek medical care if needed.

Monkeypox spreads through contact with bodily fluids, skin sores, and respiratory droplets.

Key symptoms include sudden fever, headache, muscle and back pain, and discomfort in the hands, feet, and face, along with chills and tiredness.
